Where are the steps in your life taking you? Are you just moving through the motions not really sure where you will end up? If the answer to this question is yes, you can decide to change your direction right now!
Here are some very easy steps you can take:
First, ask yourself “Am I taking this step or making this decision out of fear?” If you are, you will know because you will feel overwhelmed, indecisive, rambling on, or just plain spinning your wheels. If this is the case, stop right now. Sit quietly and just start to breathe. Delete any thoughts that come into your mind, and just focus on your breath. By the third breath you will start to feel more relaxed but try to continue this exercise for at least five minutes.
Next, ask yourself this…. What do I truly want? Write it down on paper. Then just breathe, and allow yourself to visualize what you want happening. A wise teacher once told me to fake it until I make it. What she meant was allow myself to feel the greatness of what I truly want until all my feelings of fear have no room in my thoughts, mind, words, or actions. This great advice has gotten me through many tough situations.
Now, ask yourself, “What is the worst thing that can happen?” As each thought surfaces, delete it and come up with a suggested solution of a difference outcome. This is a way to gentle exercise your mind to get ride of the negative overpowering thoughts, and replace them with the What If’s of our ultimate desired outcome.
What If’s can lead you to all kinds of possibilities!
